Come Early, Stay Late

Every Saturday we open the grove to our favorite local vendors - produce, bakes, makers, and more - while the espresso machine hums and the kids run the play corner. Grab a picnic table under the Spanish moss and take it slow.

A Saturday Market in North Tampa, the Slow Way

Slow Saturdays is the weekly farmers-and-makers market at Bearss Groves, the farm stand on Lake Magdalene Blvd that neighbors from Carrollwood, Lutz, and Northdale have been driving to for generations. Here is what a morning looks like.

Local Makers & Vendors

A rotating lineup of small Tampa Bay businesses - bakers, candle and soap makers, plant people, vintage finds, kids’ goods. The lineup changes week to week, so no two Saturdays are the same.

Fresh Produce & Local Honey

Seasonal Florida produce in the spirit of the old farm stand, plus raw local honey from Beekmann’s Bees. Come early for the best pick.

Live Music Under the Oaks

Local musicians play acoustic sets from the shade of the big oaks and Spanish moss. Low volume, high charm - conversation still wins.

Coffee, Bakes & Pup Cups

The camper window pours the full menu all day - lattes, cold brew, matcha, the Magdalene Maple - with warm biscuits and scones from the bakehouse until they sell out. Leashed dogs get a pup cup.

The Little Fruit Play Corner

Giant Connect Four, lawn games, and a basket of books so kids can run while grown-ups sip. Picnic tables sit on a level gravel lot with room for strollers and wagons.

Free Parking, Easy In and Out

Park free on the gravel lot off Lake Magdalene Blvd, one turn from Bearss Ave. Ten minutes from Carrollwood, a straight shot from Lutz, and exit 53 if you are coming up I-275.

a slow saturday, hour by hour

When to Come

  • 8 8am. Window opens, first pours, biscuits still warm from the oven. The quietest hour and the best one for bread and pastries.
  • 9 9 to 11am. Vendors are set up, the music starts, and the grove fills with strollers, dogs, and neighbors. Peak market.
  • 12 Noon on. Things slow down. Easiest time to find a picnic table in the shade and linger over an iced latte.
  • 3 3pm. Last call. We pack up the market and start thinking about next Saturday.

Why This Spot

Bearss Groves has sold Florida produce from this corner of Lake Magdalene Blvd since 1895, and its farm stand and weekend market were a North Tampa ritual for decades. When the stand went quiet, Trey and Hailey Scott parked the Good Fruit camper under its oaks and brought the Saturday market back as Slow Saturdays. Same corner, same shade, a new generation of neighbors.
